We support the Medicare for All Act of 2025 (H.R. 3069 / S. 1129), introduced by Rep. Pramila Jayapal, Rep. Debbie Dingell, and Sen. Bernie Sanders with over 100 cosponsors. This landmark legislation would guarantee universal healthcare to every American:

ICE, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, was created in 2003 as part of the post-9/11 security apparatus. ICE has separated thousands of children from their parents. It has detained people in facilities where they have died from medical neglect. It has deported veterans who served this country. It has created a climate of fear that prevents immigrants from reporting crimes, seeking healthcare, or sending their children to school. This agency cannot be reformed. It must be abolished.
We support the Abolish ICE Act (H.R. 7123), introduced by Rep. Shri Thanedar, which would dissolve ICE within 90 days and end its current enforcement authority. We also support the New Way Forward Act, which would fundamentally reform immigration enforcement by:

We support the Richard L. Trumka Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act (H.R. 20 / S. 852), introduced by Rep. Bobby Scott and Sen. Bernie Sanders, and the Raise the Wage Act of 2025 (S. 1332), which would raise the federal minimum wage to $17 by 2030 and benefit 22 million workers.

The Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade was an assault on bodily autonomy and human dignity. This is not freedom; it's state-enforced control.
Abortion is healthcare. It is a decision that belongs to the individual, not politicians, not judges, and certainly not the government. We must codify the right to abortion into federal law and ensure that every person has access to the full range of reproductive healthcare, regardless of where they live or how much money they have.
We support the Women's Health Protection Act of 2025 (H.R. 12 / S. 2150), which would establish a federal statutory right to abortion care, overriding state bans and restrictions. This legislation has over 200 cosponsors in Congress.

For decades, billionaires and corporate interests have waged war on public education. Education is the foundation of democracy. It should be free, universal, and excellent, from pre-K through college. That's why we proudly support Senator Bernie Sanders' College for All Act, which would make public colleges and universities tuition-free for 95% of American families, eliminate tuition at community colleges and trade schools for everyone, and cancel student debt. This isn't radical; countries like Germany, France, and Denmark already provide free college education. We did it after World War II with the GI Bill, and we can do it again.

In Maryland's 3rd District, working families are being pushed out of neighborhoods they've lived in for generations. Teachers, nurses, and service workers can't afford to live in the communities they serve. This is class war, and the landlords are winning. That's why we support the HOMES Act, introduced by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Tina Smith, a bold plan to build 1.3 million permanently affordable homes and create over 400,000 good-paying jobs per year.

The Second Amendment is an American right, and we should fight to keep it. Throughout history, the ability of working people to defend themselves has been essential to their liberation. From the labor battles of the early 20th century to the civil rights movement, armed self-defense has protected communities when the state would not.
I do not support attempts to limit arms for law-abiding citizens. However, I do support common-sense measures to keep weapons out of the hands of those who have demonstrated they are a danger to others. Violent criminals and domestic abusers should not have access to firearms. We can protect both our rights and our communities.

The path to a more just world runs through diplomacy, engagement, and solidarity with working people everywhere, not collective punishment.

The United States spends more on its military than the next ten countries combined. We have over 750 military bases in 80 countries. The endless wars have cost us trillions of dollars and hundreds of thousands of lives. That money could have guaranteed healthcare, housing, and education for every American. Instead, it went to defense contractors and foreign occupations. Enough.

The United States incarcerates more people than any other country on Earth, both in total numbers and per capita. We have 5% of the world's population but 25% of its prisoners. And corporations are getting rich off this human suffering, lobbying for harsher sentences and more incarceration to fill their beds and boost their profits.
Private prison companies like CoreCivic and GEO Group make billions by warehousing human beings. They cut corners on food, medical care, and staffing to maximize profits. They lobby for policies that put more people behind bars. This is not justice; it's exploitation. Incarceration should never be a business model.

Trans rights are human rights. Every person deserves access to affirming healthcare, the ability to participate fully in society, and protection from discrimination. We will fight back against the hate and ensure that all Americans can live as their authentic selves without fear of persecution or violence.
