The Data Technology Manager will manage campaign data infrastructure and technology systems. You will maintain voter databases, analyze canvassing data, and build the technical tools that power our organizing operation.
This is a volunteer position for someone passionate about using technology for progressive change. You will have the opportunity to build the data backbone of a grassroots congressional campaign while developing valuable skills in political technology.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain voter contact databases and CRM systems
- Create and distribute canvassing lists and call sheets for field operations
- Analyze field data to optimize voter contact strategy
- Build dashboards and reports to track campaign progress
- Train staff and volunteers on campaign technology tools
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide support to team members
- Ensure data security and privacy compliance
- Integrate various campaign tools and platforms
Qualifications
- Experience with data management, databases, or analytics
- Familiarity with campaign tools like VAN/VoteBuilder, NGP, or similar platforms
- Strong spreadsheet skills (Excel, Google Sheets)
- Experience with data visualization tools is a plus
- Basic programming or scripting skills helpful but not required
- Commitment to progressive values and grassroots organizing
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Time Commitment
This is a significant volunteer commitment. We are looking for someone who can dedicate 10-15 hours per week to the campaign, with increased availability during canvassing pushes. Much of the work can be done remotely.
