FINANCE DIRECTOR

The Finance Director will lead our grassroots fundraising operation. We do not accept corporate PAC money or contributions from lobbyists, which means every dollar we raise comes from working people who believe in our vision. Your job is to build a sustainable small-dollar fundraising program that can power a winning campaign.

This is a volunteer position for someone who understands that fundraising is about building relationships and telling a compelling story. You will help us prove that a people-powered campaign can compete with corporate-backed candidates.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a grassroots fundraising strategy focused on small-dollar donations
• Plan and execute fundraising events, house parties, and call time sessions
• Coordinate email and digital fundraising appeals with the Communications Director
• Build and maintain a donor database using ActBlue and campaign tools
• Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors who share our values
• Track fundraising progress and report to the Campaign Manager
• Ensure compliance with FEC contribution limits and reporting requirements
• Train volunteers to make fundraising asks and host their own events

Qualifications

• Experience with fundraising, development, or sales in any context
• Comfort asking people for money and training others to do the same
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships
• Basic understanding of campaign finance rules or willingness to learn
• Experience with ActBlue, NGP, or other fundraising platforms is helpful but not required
• Deep commitment to progressive values and grassroots organizing
• Belief that small-dollar fundraising can beat big money in politics

Time Commitment

This is a significant volunteer commitment. We are looking for someone who can dedicate 10 to 15 hours per week to the campaign, with flexibility in scheduling. The role involves a mix of planning, donor outreach, and event coordination that can largely be done remotely.
